
In the fantasy of Corina, we spent a great deal of time talking about our emotions and feelings.
Emotions can determine how we act or what we do at a specific moment.
For example, if we see a giant dragon spitting fire and destroying everything that crosses its path, a natural emotion to feel is fear. It is automatic, you almost have no control over it, but the good news is that you do. That is one of your superpowers.
Feelings: These are different sensations caused by something that happened to us in the past.
For example, the dragon, if we see that dragon again, destroying houses and trees and making everybody run with fear, we will experience feelings of horror and panic.
So our feelings are like computer data in our brain, waiting for a past episode or experience to happen again, and then it fires those same emotions we felt before.
The positive side is that you can work with your feelings and emotions. And by doing that, you become smarter and can react to any situation smartly.
How do you do that?
I am going to tell you a secret, this is not even in the Corina story, but it has helped me a lot.
There is this thing that I call the Gap. So, remember our emotions when we saw that dragon?
It was fear! And when you are afraid you run, get confused, and usually don?t know what to do. However, tons of cool things can happen if you use the Gap.
The Gap is a fantastic place in our minds between an event and our reaction to it.
The gap helps us make better decisions and have better judgment overall.
How do you access the gap? Well, when something happens, and your safety is not in danger, this is what you do:

You recognize the event, and the feeling you are having at that moment, then you access the gap. That beautiful space between the event and your reaction, then once there, you have the opportunity to think from the heart and make a better decision or action. That can be hiding from the dragon, or running without reason and end up eaten by the dragon!
