Bullies can target a wide range of individuals, and their choice of targets can vary based on several factors. It is very important to keep these factors in mind. Many times we can help/assist our kids just by knowing what type of kids or individuals the bully may victimize. Here are some common groups that bullies may target:

1. Physically weaker or smaller individuals: Bullies may target those who they perceive as physically weaker or smaller because they believe they can easily assert power and control over them. This could include individuals who are younger, smaller in size, or have physical disabilities.

2. Individuals with different interests or appearances: Bullies may target individuals who stand out or are perceived as different from the mainstream, people that just look different, or even just like to dress differently.  This could include individuals with different hobbies, interests, cultural backgrounds, or physical appearances. Bullies may use these differences to ridicule or demean their targets.

3. Academic overachievers: In some cases, bullies may target individuals who excel academically. This can stem from feelings of jealousy, insecurity, or a desire to undermine the achievements of others.

4. LGBTQ+ individuals: Unfortunately, individuals who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, or queer (LGBTQ+) may be at a higher risk of being targeted by bullies. Homophobia, transphobia, and other forms of prejudice can lead to bullying behaviors towards LGBTQ+ individuals.

5. People from other countries:  Bullies may target those who are from another country different than theirs. Specially if they are of a different ethnic background or culture.

It's important to note that bullying can occur for various reasons and can affect anyone, regardless of their characteristics or backgrounds. However, by exercising forgiveness and reaching out to adults, teachers, and school organizations we can work with the bully to stop the bulling of our children once and for all.
